The war in Ukraine has now officially become uncontained. And what’s going on in American politics has global consequences. Right now, we need leaders who understand what is really going on in the world.

To give you some breadth into the intensifying geopolitical importance of our NATO-ally Romania right now:

Within the past 24 hours, a Cargo ship exploded in the NATO-area Sulina port of Romania, and officials suspect the attack was caused by a mine. https://www.barrons.com/news/explosion-rocks-cargo-ship-near-romanian-danube-port-8e8de822

Also within the past 24 hours, the US has just finished building a strategic U.S. Air Force base in in central Romania, to expand our reach in southeastern Europe, and undoubtedly would be strategic launch point to go deeper into Eastern Europe. https://www.aviationpros.com/aircraft/defense/news/53072898/us-military-construction-project-finished-at-key-air-base-in-romania

And in addition to the 100,000 US troops added to the already hundreds of thousands of US troops in NATO,  NATO has recently indicated ramping up even more US troops in Romania “with deterrence by defence, through defence, not only by sending a message of NATO presence." https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/opinions_192739.htm 

In other words, we should seriously begin to consider there will be a direct clash between NATO and Russia.

But this escalation could have been mitigated if the US had sent Ukraine several more Patriot anti-missile batteries to protect the sky and shoot down more Russian missiles along the Danube / Odessa region. https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/20/europe/ukraine-air-defenses-odesa-russia-strikes-grain-intl/index.html

This is but one of many examples of how sending Ukraine weaponry actually helps prevent a bigger war.

Yet with all of these events taking place this very week, our Congressman - Byron Donalds - has recently attempted (but failed) to make drastic cuts to training our military allies. In his failed CR proposal, Donalds would have cut military training for our allies abroad from $300 million to merely $20 million, specifically with the aim to cut support to Ukraine amid Russia's brutal invasion. His policy would leave masses of NATO and Ukrainian troops without the necessary skills and education in the wake of Russian aggression.

All of this, in the name of “fiscal responsibility” ?

In other words, we’re fully prepared for this.

What the global events in the past 2 weeks shows us is that Europe could very well be on the brink of war, regardless if Byron Donalds wants to make foreign defense cuts.

WWIII, if not thwarted right now, would sap the US economy, and our children and grandchildren will be paying for it for decades to come.

Now that a brutal invasion in Europe is underway, there is no easy diplomatic solution that remains. The only solution is to expel Russia's brutal invasion. This is now a matter of military, and there is no "cheap" or "easy deal" or "shortcut" that can help us turn back from this reality.

In order to protect our interests, we simply have to move forward with strength. As Reagan once said, we need to achieve "Peace through strength" - not through weakness as Donalds' policy would do.

The actions, inaction, and confusion on this topic in American politics has global consequences in and of themselves.

We cannot empower Russia to think that the US would weaken our resolve.

We cannot turn our back on our responsibility to global security. We cannot turn our back on our allies. That includes Ukraine.

Byron Donalds does not understand these issues. His proposed policies are a threat to our national security. Byron Donalds must be unseated.
