2025 US ADMIN SHIFT: Choking Russian Energy and Mapping Western Naval Superiority
The United States Congress passed the new National SEcurity Defense AUthorization Act of 2025, the “NDAA” which 12/23/2024 Became Public Law and emphasizes under Sec. 1082 “Sec. 1082. Installation energy plans and assessment for reduction of reliance on Russian energy.”
An opposition study to why the US has not yet designated russia as a state sponsor of terror, is that it would “triggers export controls for dual-use items – materials with both civilian and military uses; disallows U.S. arms sales and foreign assistance; and restricts access to debt relief and international financing."
however, with the NDAA 2025 policy expressly moving away from russian energy, the US is clearly moving to cut the strings which attaches diplomatic relations to russia
This comes amid the new US Congress is making a push in to cut federal funding to the Talibann, for which russia began officially strenghtening its ties back in june 2024. And due to North Korea’s military entry into the war, we have seen as recently as June 2024 a renewed push to designate russia as a state sponsor of terror, all signalling that we may be drawing near the end to diplomatic relations with russia.

Thesse tensions now emphasized by the new admin’s warlinked initiative to acquire “energy dominance”,
Evidence that the US econony is impacted by war - related energy-related crisis as follows.
As response to the skyrocketing energy inflation in 2022, which hit many Americans with $5.00 per gallon gas and an over 40 percent increase in energy prices over the previous year according to a May 2024 report.
The raising cost of energy drives costs of logistics industry to ship products which soared in 2022 due to the rising cost in western Europe, sparking inflation which drives the prices of eggs and other groceries to go up.
It was documented back in Sep 22 2022 by Radio Free Europe, that the “Kremlin-controlled Gazprom began cutting natural-gas exports to the (EU) bloc last year, causing prices to jump, as it massed more than 100,000 combat-ready troops on Ukraine’s border in what European officials and energy experts said was an attempt by Moscow to pressure Brussels over its support for Kyiv.”
This price gouging signalled potential future disruptions to oil supply which in turn triggered the US admin selling off nearly half the US oil reserve as a direct response to russia’s war in Ukraine, causing oil prices to soaring even higher in the US.
To solve for the ongoing war-related inflation crisis, recent reports state that the new US admin could increase its supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the EU, potentially replacing energy imports from Russia. This was emphasized by Ukraine’s President Zelensky on Jan 1, who stated, “We also hope for an increased American gas supply to Europe, which President Trump has already mentioned. Cooperation and maximum supply from partners will result in more comfortable prices on the market. The more gas available on the market from Europe's true partners, the sooner the last remaining consequences of Europe's reliance on Russia will be eliminated.” https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/1874481379326488916
Notably,
the new US energy policy initaitive comes in conjunctio with
Ukraine's heightened targeting of russian energy, by
hitting
not only energy depots
which
supply its military, but also
cutting
off gas pipelines that go into its country.
Ukraine’s attacks on russia’s Gas and oil depot industry in the month of dec-jan alone comprise of just a few:

And
Ukraine is targeting russian energy, by
hitting
not only energy depots
which
supply its military, but also
cutting
off gas pipelines that go into its country.
Developments on russian energy pipeline are described below:
https://x.com/IdeologyTribe/status/1874178817679409478 (ukraine turns off 4 pipelines from russia to ukraine, only 2 remain - Northernlights and Yamal-Europe pipelines,)
https://x.com/Poetic_Fella/status/1874413857348935958 (the only remaining Russian gas pipeline runs through Turkey.)
https://x.com/visegrad24/status/1874406720325526011 (Ukraine has stopped all transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine starting Jan 1. Poland stopped all transit of Russian gas in 2022 and Germany did the same with the Nord Stream gas pipelines)4
A crucial aspect of US lng exports will be drilling, and naval superiority in order to securely transport the energy.
With the incoming Trump admins promises to drill more, Biden has triggered a blanket ban on offshore drilling in US waters , which Trump vows to lift, a power-move that makes the oncoming shift in energy industry even more visceral.
And while reports state half the European lng imports come from USA, 20% of lng imports to the EU still come from russia, and there is pressure now to eliminate that completely through sanctions.
there is also pressure from the US to Europe to seize $300billino in russian assets
And speaking about power-moves, Trump has stated he wants to the US to take control of the Panama Canal, citing national security concerns, “We need them for economic security. The Panama Canal was built for our military," Trump said. "Look, the Panama Canal is vital to our country. It's being operated by China. China. And we gave the Panama Canal to Panama. We didn't give it to China. And they've abused it. They've abused that gift. It should have never been made."”
Notably,
the
US
makes repairs
to
the Panama canal’s watershed which is a critical aspect to the
operating of the structure,as
it depends on reservoirs to operate its locks and was heavily
affected by drought during the past two years
that
forced it to substantially reduce the number of daily slots for
crossing ships. And while some 70% of the sea traffic that crosses
the Panama Canal leaves or goes to U.S. ports, connecting the
Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and linking the North and South American
continent, it is being claimed by Trump that china
actually controls the trade routes
and
is causing unfair costs.
And while the the canal authority can iintroduce hefty increases in tolls at its discretion,
Ricaurte Vásquez, the administrator of the Canal stressed that the Panama Canal was open to the commerce of all countries. The canal can’t give special treatment to U.S.-flagged ships because of a neutrality treaty, Vásquez added. “The most sensible and efficient way to do this is to maintain the established rules.”
However, it is questionable if we can maintain a neutrality treaty amid the war in Ukraine where energy sanctions are being circumvented through loopholes in maritime law. Russia’s dark shadow fleet - in which China is the biggest buyer– uses “ flag hop” between different permissive ship registries, which grown explosively, to an estimated 1,400 ships. Of those 1,400, only 68 of the 155 tankers today listed by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control are part of the so-called dark fleet of elderly, anonymously owned ships, which are solely deployed in lifting sanctioned oil from Russia. To underscore their circumvention, on the first week of January 2025China’sShandong Port, the entry point for most sanctioned oil banned US-designated vessels, but Shandong Port said it expects the shipping ban to have a limited impact on independent refiners as most of the sanctioned oil is being carried on non-sanctioned tankers.
This black market of shadow fleet market benefits not only russia, but Panama as well, who is known to be the top “flag of convenience”, representing 15.9 percent of the share of global total to circumvent sanctions, as well as tax laws.
The last week of December 2024, a tanker of the Russian shadow fleet known as Cordelia Moon- spotted in OCtober with armed guards engaging a surface drone – mysteriously broke down while transporting Russian oil under the Panamanian flag, causing a halt in vessel traffic in the Bosphorus Strait, raising concerns about the impact on regional maritime traffic and the broader implications for geopolitical tensions in the area, and a growing focus on the role of shadow fleets in facilitating the transportation of goods, including oil, and the need for enhanced regulation and oversight in the maritime industry.

While Kyiv did not take responsibility, 😉 notably, This came in a time of the fall of the Assad regime in Syria in the final weeks of 2024 continues to reverberate through the Russian political and military system, wherein Russia has lost the use of the naval base at Tartus, which is already affecting its ability to maintain forces in the Mediterranean. The Russian Navy is at its weakest there since before the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Additionally, Finland seized a russian tanker Eagle S On December 25-26, detained by Finnish police on suspicion of severing four fiber-optic cables and one power cable by dragging its anchor. it appears a WW3 trajectory is more imminent, and at the very least -
a trade war between western and russian energy which can actually lead to russia's total collapse.
